Chinese language course. To adapt to examinations, beautiful writing in the textbook are dismembered into characters, words, sentences and chapters, and teaching becomes largely the training of skills to provide answers. Someone told a story about contradiction between examination-oriented education and a student's creative thinking. A Chinese-language teacher asks his students: after snow is melted, what does it become? Some say "water;" others say "mud;" and one student says: "when it is melted, snow becomes spring." The last answer is clever and has a poetic flavor. But the student will get zero marks according to the standard answer.
       In the present era when science and technology develops at a rapid pace, society has all-encompassing requirements on the quality of people. A person should have a high moral standard, be healthy both physically and mentally, have a rational knowledge structure, be innovative, have a sense of competition, a healthy ability to communicate with people and abilities to cooperate, to self-study and to adapt. All these are basic qualities required of a person by the times. Education is a systems engineering project. Its function is not limited to disseminating knowledge to students. Schools have the responsibility to provide guidance in a wide range of areas for their students. It is this very process that examination-oriented education
